Why This Agreement Matters

Matted fur can cause discomfort, pain, and serious health concerns for your pet. At Kritter Kare Spa, we take extra precautions to ensure your dog receives safe, compassionate care during the de-matting process.

Please read and sign below to acknowledge the risks, responsibilities, and grooming adjustments associated with de-matting and shavedown services.

Acknowledgment of Risks and Grooming Procedures

1. Increased Risk of Irritation or Injury

• I understand that de-matting or shaving close to the skin may expose sensitive or compromised areas. My dog may experience redness, irritation, or minor nicks due to the severity of the mats.

2. Shaving and Coat Alterations

• If matting is severe, I understand that Kritter Kare Spa may need to shave my dog’s coat close to the skin. This can result in an uneven or patchy appearance and a significantly shorter haircut than expected.

3. Potential Pre-existing Skin Conditions

• I acknowledge that matting may hide skin problems such as sores, infections, or irritations. Removing mats may reveal these conditions. I agree that Kritter Kare Spa is not liable for pre-existing or underlying issues discovered during grooming.

4. Pain-Free Grooming Policy

• Kritter Kare Spa prioritizes comfort. If grooming is deemed too stressful or painful, I authorize the groomer to stop de-matting and perform a shavedown instead, at their professional discretion.

5. Owner Responsibility

• I will inform Kritter Kare Spa of any known skin sensitivities, medical issues, behavioral concerns, or past grooming experiences that may affect my dog’s response during grooming.

6. Emergency Veterinary Care

• In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize Kritter Kare Spa to seek veterinary care for my pet at my expense. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact me first.

7. Shavedown Fee Disclosure

• I understand that a $25-50 shavedown fee may be added to the standard grooming rate due to the extra time, skill, and caution required.

8. Grooming Refusal/Termination Clause

• Kritter Kare Spa reserves the right to refuse or stop grooming if it is deemed unsafe due to my pet’s behavior, health, or the severity of the matting. Partial grooming fees may still apply.

Release and Waiver of Liability

By signing below, I confirm that I am the legal owner (or authorized representative) of the dog named below. I acknowledge and accept the potential risks associated with de-matting and/or shavedown services. I release Kritter Kare Spa, its employees, contractors, and affiliates from liability for any injury, stress, or conditions arising from these services.
